Ukraine imports the majority of goods from China, exports to Poland

In January-March 2023, Ukraine's trade turnover amounted to 25,8 billion US dollars, which is 7% less than in the same period last year. During the first quarter of 2023, Ukraine imported goods in the amount of 15,5 billion US dollars, and exported goods in the amount of 10,3 billion US dollars. At the same time, taxable import amounted to 12,5 billion US dollars, which is 80% of the total volume of imported goods.

The tax burden on 1 kg of taxed imports in January-March 2023 was 0,45 USD/kg, which is 60% more than in this period of 2022.

The countries from which the most goods were imported to Ukraine: China — 2,6 billion US dollars, Poland — 1,6 billion US dollars, and Germany — 1,1 billion US dollars.

Ukraine exported the most to Poland — 1,5 billion US dollars, China — 1 billion US dollars, Romania — 997 million US dollars.

In the total volume of goods imported in January-March 2023, 71% were goods: machinery, equipment, transport — 4,4 billion US dollars, fuel and energy products — 3,6 billion US dollars, chemical industry products — 2,8 billion US dollars .

The top three goods exported from Ukraine included: food products — 6,7 billion US dollars, metals and products from them— 929 million US dollars and machinery, equipment, and transport — 812 million US dollars.
