Ukraine imported a record volume of electricity from the EU in January

In January, Ukraine imported a record daily volume of electricity from the EU amounting to 41.9 GWh.

Importing electricity from the European Union helped maintain the energy system amid Russian attacks and severe frosts, reduce the deficit, and cut the volumes of forced outages.

This support was made possible thanks to the expansion of transmission capacity: in January, the power import limit from the EU was set at 2,450 MW.
