Ukraine imported a record 1.2 million MWh of electricity in February

In February 2026, Ukraine again reached record volumes of electricity imports – 1.26 million MWh. Compared to January 2026, the volumes imported during the month increased by 41%.

Hungary continues to account for the largest share in the import structure – 49%. Also, compared to January 2026, electricity imports from Hungary increased the most – by almost 54%.

In general, despite political forecasts, electricity imports from Hungary and Slovakia in February only increased to record levels for the month. Slovakia’s share is 18%. Electricity exports in 2026 are absent.

Compared to February 2025, electricity imports increased 5 times.
