Since the beginning of the full-scale russian military invasion, the geography of Ukrainian flour export has changed significantly. Export to the EU exceeded 50% of the total volume of Ukrainian flour sold.

At the same time during 2023 Ukraine did not ship flour to South-eastern Asian countries such as Sri Lanka and Cambodia. African countries to the south from Sahara almost lost our attention: Ghana, Sudan, Gambia and Ethiopia have imported in total 478 tonnes for the whole year. The volumes of deliveries to the UAE have also changed dramatically – from 27,893 thousand tons in 2021 to 683 tons in 2023. In Somalia, Angola, Djibouti and some other countries, which have been buying Ukrainian flour milling products for many years in a row, there were no sales at all last year.

In total, flour millers of Ukraine shipped their products to 217 buyers from 48 countries in 2023 and, most likely, will soon return to their former sales markets.
