Ukraine has increased its export of fruit and berries since the beginning of the year

In January-June of this year Ukraine has increased export of fruit and berries by 16% in comparison with the same period of 2018 and now it amounts to 116 million USD.

It was reported by the press-service of the National Scientific Centre "Institute Of Agrarian Economics". It was also mentioned in the report that the increase of export earnings became possible due to increase of the sales revenue of all the main Ukrainian export products of this group, such as: walnuts, frozen fruit and berries, apples and pears. All the mentioned products make more than 95% of the value of the whole group. 

Moreover, the press-service informs that the export of fruit and berries from Ukraine increased in volume as well, in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The volume of foreign deliveries of walnuts and apples and pears grew by almost 75% (walnuts – from 19 thousand tons to 33 thousand tons, apples and pears – from 24 thousand tons to 42 thousand tons). The export volume of frozen fruit grew almost by one third (from 14 thousand tons to 18 thousand tons). According to the data provided by experts the target markets for Ukrainian fruit and berries export in January-June of 2019 became: Turkey (18 million USD), France (11 million USD), Poland (10 million USD), Belarus (9 million USD), Iraq (7 million USD), Italy (5 million USD), Greece (5 million USD) and Germany (4 million USD).

In general, Ukraine receives over 50% of fruit and berries export earnings from exporting them to the European Union.
