Ukrainian export of chocolate in the first quarter of 2024 significantly exceeded import in physical terms, but were almost equal to import in monetary terms.

In the reporting period, Ukrainian export of chocolate amounted to 14 500 tons worth 55 million US dollars. For comparison, in the corresponding period of 2023, the export figure was 11500 tons worth 37 million US dollars.

As for the import of chocolate, during January-March 2024, it has amounted to 8,9 thousand tons for 53 million US dollars (for the corresponding period of 2023 - 8,7 thousand tons for  42 million US dollars.

There is a significant increase in chocolate prices (both in Ukraine and in other countries), the reason for which was a significant increase in global prices for cocoa beans.

Last year Ukrainian export of chocolate amounted to 53 400 tons with a total value of 191 million US dollars, import – 31 000 tons for 166 million US dollars.
