Ukraine has entered the top three exporters of chocolate to the EU

Ukraine has exported 22 000 tons of chocolate to EU countries in 2023 and took the third place among non-EU countries. Ukraine accounted for 13% of the import of these products, reports Polish Radio with reference to Eurostat data.

Only Switzerland (62 thousand tons, 36% share) and Great Britain (61 thousand tons, 36% share) exported more chocolate to the EU.

At the same time, the countries of the European Union exported 867 000 tons of chocolate and chocolate bars to countries outside the European Union.

The largest exporter was Germany – 221 000 tons, i.e. 26% of the total volume. The Netherlands was in the second place with 123 000 tons (14%), Poland was in the third place with 115 000 tons (13%). Belgium, which is known for its sweets, exported 96 thousand tons (11%).

Great Britain, which received 315 thousand tons of chocolate from the EU (36%), followed by the USA - 72 thousand tons (8%), russia - 65 thousand tons (7% ), Canada – 31 thousand tons (4%) and Australia – 27 thousand tons (3%).
