Representatives of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the National Agency for Food Safety of the Republic of Moldova held a working meeting, the key topic of which was the prompt resumption of exports of Ukrainian meat products to Moldova.
The parties not only discussed technical issues, but also agreed on a clear algorithm of actions that will allow the export of frozen and chilled poultry meat to be resumed as soon as possible, subject to confirmation of its safety.
Business entities that have the right to export to EU member states (Euro-number) and carry out a closed production cycle (own slaughterhouses) will be able to export products after conducting laboratory tests of 10 blood serum samples in EU laboratories.
As soon as the test results confirm compliance with safety standards, the export of frozen and chilled poultry meat for the relevant capacity will be opened. This step will become an important signal of the stability and reliability of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
Later, after the resumption of exports, the competent authorities of both countries will additionally discuss the conditions and frequency of additional laboratory tests.
Ukraine has already taken practical steps: a representative number of samples has been selected and sent to an EU laboratory for testing.
