Ukraine and Hungary agreed to open a new checkpoint

The governments of Ukraine and Hungary have agreed on amendments to the agreement on border traffic control which will allow the start of work to launch a new checkpoint for passenger vehicles.

"Ukraine and Hungary have agreed to open the "Velyka Palad – Nagyhódos" crossing point for passenger vehicles and the possibility of moving empty heavy vehicles weighing more than 7,5 tons to move through the "Luzhanka-Beregsurány" crossing point, - the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure said in a statement.

The corresponding changes to the agreement between the governments of the countries on the control of border traffic were signed by Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov and Hungarian Ambassador Heizer Antal.

The parties are also considering the possibility of building a new cargo crossing point "Dyida-Beregdaróc" in order to increase the capacity of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. After signing the changes to the agreement, the document must be ratified.
