A third of this year’s pork imports were purchased by Ukraine in August

Over the 8 months of 2025, Ukraine imported 14,900 tons of pork, which is 7.6 times more than in the same period of 2024. In August alone, purchases reached 4,600 tons, or one-third of the total. In monetary terms, imports from January to August increased 7.7 times compared to the same period in 2024, reaching $37.9 million.

During January–August this year, pork was primarily imported from Denmark (61.8%), Poland (16.5%), and the Netherlands (8.3%). Ukraine’s pork exports for the 8 months of 2025 remained at last year’s level of 2,000 tons.

However, revenue increased by 22.4% compared to January–August 2024, reaching $6 million. Since the beginning of the year, the most active buyers of Ukrainian pork were the UAE (33.2%), Hong Kong (18.7%), and Bahrain (15.5%).
