In April, agricultural exports from Ukraine by road transport decreased by 9.6% compared to March, reaching 293,500 tons. A decline in agricultural exports was observed at all borders, with the Slovak border seeing the largest drop – 20.5%, down to 15,500 tons.
Exports through Romanian and Polish checkpoints decreased by 15.8% and 8.6%, reaching 71,200 tons and 122,600 tons, respectively. The smallest reductions were at the Hungarian and Moldovan borders, with declines of 3.5% and 1.3%, reaching 37,600 tons and 46,100 tons, respectively.
The main export commodities for the month were sunflower oil (31,400 tons) and sugar (26,300 tons).
In the first five days of May, agricultural exports by road transport reached 45,000 tons, a 16% decrease compared to the same period in April. Domestic transportation costs in Ukraine increased by $1-3 compared to the previous period, while European route costs decreased by €2-3.
