Restrictions on the import of goods from Germany into Ukraine

According to the official information from the EU and the World Organization for Animal Health, cases of African swine fever (ASF) have been registered on the territory of Germany. In order to prevent the introduction of the causative agent of the specified disease into the territory of Ukraine, the Chief State Veterinary Inspector of Ukraine prohibited:

- import in Ukraine of animals belonging to the pig (Suidae), Tayassuidae and Tapiridae families, genetic material, products from them (with the exception of products that have undergone processing in accordance with the Requirements);

- import in Ukraine of animals belonging to the pig (Suidae), Tayassuidae and Tapiridae families, genetic material, products from them, with the exception of products processed in accordance with the Requirements or fresh meat of domestic pigs, which:

- obtained in a zone/s in which, at the time of issue of the certificate, infection of domestic pigs with African swine fever virus has not been reported for 12 months prior to the date of slaughter of the animals from which the fresh meat was obtained; and

- obtained from animals originating from farms in and around which, including the territory within a radius of 10 km, African swine fever was not detected during 40 days before the date of slaughter; and

- received at a slaughterhouse in and around which, within a radius of 10 km, African swine fever has not been reported for 40 days before the date of slaughter of the animals.
