According to the official information of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), cases of sheep and goat pox in animals have been registered on the territory of Georgia.

In order to prevent the causative agent of the specified disease from being introduced into the territory of Ukraine, the Chief State Veterinary Inspector of Ukraine has banned

the importation into Ukraine of sheep and goat smallpox-susceptible animals, reproductive material from them, unprocessed wool and wool from sheep and goats from Georgia.
