The President signed laws on exemption from VAT and customs duties on certain defense goods

On January 10, the President of Ukraine, V. Zelenskyy, signed two laws that provide for exemption from value added tax and customs duties on certain defense goods.

There are draft laws № 10341 and № 10342 at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine website. Radar complexes, electronic warfare and elements for bullet-proof vests will be exempted from VAT and import duties into Ukraine.

According to draft law № 10341, radar devices that are important for defense structures will be exempted from value added tax (VAT) during wartime. Taxation will not be applied to goods received by law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, security and defense forces.

At the same time, draft law № 10342 abolishes import duty taxation on polymer sheets. They are used for the production of  bullet-proof vests and protective screens, as well as accessories for them.
