On September 25, Ukraine’s Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture O. Sobolev and Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy
Andrzej Domański signed an Agreement on the activities of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), which opens new opportunities for attracting investments, supporting exports, and creating new projects in the field of Ukraine’s recovery.
To fulfill its functions, BGK may:
create representative offices in Ukraine;
hire personnel with Ukrainian, Polish, or other citizenship;
conduct negotiations, conclude contracts, provide and receive guarantees, and carry out any other activities necessary for the implementation of projects, in the manner and methods specified in the Agreement.
During the meeting, O. Sobolev and Andrzej Domański also discussed key areas for further bilateral cooperation between the countries:
Euro-integration and export duties for Ukraine;
development of affordable mortgage lending and cooperation within investment projects;
support for investment projects and industrial parks;
reform of public investment management, which introduces a single, efficient, and transparent process that will ensure the direction of limited financial resources toward key recovery priorities and the needs of the population.
