February 20, 2019 Ukraine and OAU signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry for Climate Change and Environmental Protection of the United Arab Emirates on cooperation in the field of agriculture and food safety.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, on behalf of the Ukrainian side, the Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva acted as the signatory, and from the side of the UAE - the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment of the United Arab Emirates Tani Al Zeyudi.  The signing took place in Dubai (OAU) during the business trip of the Ukrainian delegation to the international agrarian exhibition "Gulfood 2019".

"The United Arab Emirates is an important partner for us in the agrarian and food sectors.  Ukraine intends to become a strategic partner of the OAU to ensure the country's food security.  The signing of the Memorandum will provide significant opportunities for our countries to increase the volume of a  trade in agricultural products, expand the product range, and for  cooperation in the field of livestock and food security ", - explained the Acting Minister Olga Trofimtseva.
