In March 2024, compared to February, Ukraine did not change the volume of dairy product exports.
"In March 2024, Ukraine has exported 8,55 thousand tons of dairy products worth 18 million US dollars. The natural volumes of exports remained almost at the level of February of the current year (+0,35%), but reduced by 11% compared to March 2023,"- the Association of Milk Producers said in a statement.
Since the beginning of the year, 25 300 tons of dairy products have been exported, which is 5% less compared to last year's period. Export revenue for delivered goods increased by 8% compared to February 2024.
The main export categories in monetary terms were: milk and condensed cream - 28%; cheeses - 22%; ice cream - 20%; butter - 14%.
Ukraine reduced natural volumes of milk and condensed cream exports to 1,82 thousand tons (-13%). The volume of condensed milk exports reduced due to a reduction in supplies to Israel, Poland, Germany and Moldova.
The export of Ukrainian butter in March amounted to 390 tons, which is 23% more than in the previous month of the current year. Also, the amount of money increased by 21% compared to February, and amounted to 2,5 million US dollars. Oil supplies increased to Moldova, Azerbaijan, UAE. About 48% of exported oil was sent to Moldova, 31% to Azerbaijan, 6% to Israel.
On the other hand, in March, Ukraine imported 4,49 thousand tons of dairy products, which is 12% less compared to February. Last month, deliveries of cheese (+32%) and ice cream (+86%) to Ukraine increased. The largest reduction in import deliveries over the last month was observed for butter (-121%). Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has imported 13,69 thousand tons of dairy products, which is 4% more compared to last year's period.
