From January 1, 2023, the Law of Ukraine "On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine" dated October 19, 2022 № 2697-IX (hereinafter - the Law on the Customs Tariff) came into force.

Law on Customs Tariff:

harmonizes the product nomenclature of Ukraine with the requirements of the seventh edition of the Harmonized System of Description and Coding of Goods, version 2022, to fulfill international obligations;

adapts the statistical system of Ukraine to international methods, standards and classifications;

brings in line with foreign trade documentation;

eliminates discrepancies in the versions of the Ukrainian classification systems of goods of foreign economic activity of Ukraine and trade partner countries;

accelerates and simplifies the procedure for customs clearance of goods during foreign trade operations.

The document does not change the rates of import duty on goods, but only the classification of individual goods.
