India continues duty-free import of yellow peas: prices in Ukraine have grown up

A successful pea season is expected in Ukraine in 2024. India's duty-free policy on import of yellow peas will be extended till October 31, 2024. Such a decisive measure is due to serious weather problems, which negatively affected the yield of local agricultural crops and caused a deficit in the domestic market. Possibilities of duty-free supply of peas to India create profitable prospects for the Ukrainian producers.

Demand for Ukrainian yellow peas in the world will remain stable until the end of the year, and prices will grow up. It can be expected that the prices for the harvest of Ukrainian peas in 2024 will be at least 325 US dollars per ton. Ukrainian farmers, anticipating an increase in demand and prices at the world market, have already increased the area under sowing of this crop. According to official data, 161 000 hectares have been sown in Ukraine, but the real indicators of sown areas are higher. The upcoming season promises to be a good one for pea producers, as global demand for grown beans at favorable prices will be ensured.
