The Cabinet of Ministers has excluded lithium-ion batteries from the list of goods requiring an import and export license. This refers to batteries used in electricity storage systems.
This decision will enable faster importation of electricity storage equipment into Ukraine and ensure uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure facilities and businesses.
The mandatory licensing of such batteries previously complicated their supply and reduced the ability of businesses, hospitals, and households to provide themselves with electricity during outages.
In 2026, one of the state's priorities is the development of distributed generation and energy storage systems. This is necessary to mitigate the consequences of attacks on the energy system and increase its resilience.
