The export of sunflower oil from Ukraine in September-April 2023/24 marketing year amounted to more than 4,4 million tons, which exceeded the figure for the same period of the previous season by 17% and became the second largest export volume in history after the indicator of 2019/20 marketing year (4,49 million tons in September-April).

A more attractive price for sunflower oil compared to other vegetable oils contributed to the increase in demand for this product in the current season from key global importers, as a result of which Ukrainian factories actively increased sunflower processing.

An important factor is the provision of relatively stable shipments of oil by sea transport.

The estimate of sunflower oil exports for the 2023/24 season was increased by APK-Inform experts to 5,6 million tons (+4% to the April estimate; -1% to 2022/23 marketing year).
