The European Commission is investigating the situation on the market of poultry meat, eggs and frozen fruit in order to decide whether to implement tariff quotas for Ukraine. EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski stressed that there is currently no reason to ban the import of any other goods from Ukraine, except for wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower, to Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
But if the import of poultry meat continues on such volumes in the nearest months, there will be a return to the tariff quotas that were valid before the liberalization. The EC also monitors the situation on the egg market. There is an increase in import.
The situation with frozen fruits will be studied during the season in the coming months. If during the season it becomes clear that there is a threat to Polish, European producers, the European Commission is ready to introduce restrictions even in emergency cases.
