The EU has extended duty-free imports of iron and steel from Ukraine

The European Parliament extended the duty-free import of iron and steel from Ukraine for three years.

Members of the European Parliament voted to extend the suspension of import duties and quotas on iron and steel exports from Ukraine until June 2028.

According to the European Parliament’s website, the EU liberalized trade with Ukraine on June 4, 2022, and the latest extension of these measures expires on June 5 this year. The proposal was adopted with 354 votes in favor, 147 against, and 53 abstentions. The decision now requires approval from the Council of the EU.
