The EU agreed to continue the duty-free export of agricultural products from Ukraine

The European Council reached a preliminary agreement on the continuation of trade liberalization measures for Ukraine. Relevant measures include duty-free export of Ukrainian agricultural products. This was reported by the press service of the European Parliament.

Thus, according to the decision of European officials, the temporary suspension of import duties and quotas for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU will be extended for another year, until June 5, 2025. According to the EU, this will help support Ukraine in the face of russia's aggressive war.

Besides, the resolution of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe provides for emergency braking of particularly sensitive agricultural products, namely poultry, eggs and sugar. Oats, corn, groats and honey were also added to this list.

It is emphasized that the European Parliament and the European council must now give the final green light to the interim agreement. The suspension will expire on June 5, 2024. The new rules should come into force immediately after this date.
