eQueue for border crossing will automatically check for the presence of a “Green Card”

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, within the framework of the eQueue for border crossing project, is launching the implementation of a new functionality in the system – automatic verification of the presence of a valid insurance certificate “Green Card”. The relevant development was implemented in cooperation with the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine.

From May 12, 2026, during the booking of a place in the online queue for border crossing, the system will automatically check for the presence of a “Green Card”. Thus, the user will see in their personal account information about the availability and status of insurance coverage for the vehicle that has a booked queue.

The presence of “Green Card” insurance is mandatory when leaving the country for both buses and trucks – in general for all commercial transport. The absence of a valid certificate is grounds for refusal of border crossing, and in the case of an accident abroad – can lead to significant financial costs.

How will the new functionality work?

During booking a border crossing in eQueue – the system automatically checks for the presence of the insurance certificate. If it is not available – the user will see the corresponding notification and will be able to continue the booking further.

If during the booking of a place in the queue the certificate has not yet entered into force, for example, because it was issued before the trip, the queue entry will remain active until the status “For entry” to the checkpoint is obtained.

However, if at the moment this status is obtained the vehicle does not have valid insurance, the entry in the online queue will be automatically cancelled by the system.
