Ukraine and Moldova signed an agreement on cooperation in the areas of food safety and animal health. The agreement will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova in the areas of animal health and food safety by creating the most favorable conditions for bilateral trade in food products, as well as supporting unhindered trade, ensuring food safety at all stages of the food chain according to the principle «from the field to the table».

In particular, the document establishes the following conditions for the implementation of joint measures:

exchange of information, documentation, as well as the results of scientific and technological achievements regarding animal health and food safety;

timely informing about the detection or spread of animal diseases and the measures taken to eliminate them. This will contribute to the protection of national territories from transnational introduction of infectious animal diseases during the import, export or transit of animals and animal products;

enhancing comprehensive cooperation between the countries, which will expand bilateral trade and diversify the export of Ukrainian goods.
