The Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement between Ukraine and the EU on participation in the Customs program, which provides for cooperation between the parties in the customs sphere. 

The objectives of the programme are to protect the financial and economic interests of the EU and its States-parties, to ensure protection and security, to protect against unfair and illegal trade, and to support legitimate commercial activities.

The program will help to create a modern customs union, which has as its basis the interests of business and citizens, by increasing the exchange of information and data between national customs administrations and supporting customs authorities in protecting the financial and economic interests of countries, in particular in the correct collection of customs duties, import VAT and excise duties.
