A container terminal in Poland launched an intermodal service for cargo from Ukraine

"Baltic Container Terminal" in Gdynia (Baltic Container Terminal, BCT) has started cooperation with logistics operators Fortis Logistics Group and Multimodal Solutions&Services, launching a direct intermodal connection for the export of goods manufactured in Ukraine.

BCT now accepts trains with containerized cargo, mainly corn, grain and meal. The route trains running between Slavków and Gdynia currently consist of 22 80-foot SGGRS wagons and 44 40-foot containers. The connection started with three trains a week, now their number has increased to six. Ukrainian agricultural products are delivered to Slavkuvo in wagons with a gauge of 1520 mm, where they are reloaded into containers and sent to Gdynia and further around the world. For today the terminal, together with partners, is also working on improving the flow of import transportation to Ukraine, using already existing connections.
