The Committee of the European Parliament on Transport and Tourism has approved two separate agreements with Ukraine and Moldova, which should simplify cross-border transportation of cargoes.
The new agreements of the European Union on automobile transportation with Ukraine and Moldova will replace the current bilateral agreements with the EU countries.
They will also temporarily facilitate automobile cargo transportation, allowing carriers of Ukraine, Moldova and the EU to have mutual transit and operate without the need for relevant permissions.
Besides, the agreement will allow Ukrainian drivers to continue to use their existing domestic driver's licenses and certificates of professional competence to drive in the EU without the need for an international license. European deputies plan to vote for the agreements at the next plenary session in November. Both agreements are provisionally effective starting from June 29, 2022.
