Cheese imports decreased by 9.7% in January

In January 2026, Ukraine imported 2.8 thousand tons of cheese, which is 9.7% less than in the first month of 2025. 

$17.6 million was spent on cheese imports – 2.8% less than in January 2025. 

Cheese was mainly imported to Ukraine from Poland (49.5%), Germany (16.1%), and the Netherlands (9.8%). 

Exports of Ukrainian cheese in January 2026 increased by 11.5% compared to the same period last year – to 1.1 thousand tons. 

In monetary terms, exports brought in $4.9 million, which is 11.4% more than the figure for January 2025. 

The largest buyers of domestic cheese in January this year were Moldova (36.9%), Kazakhstan (22.4%) and Germany (12.5%).
