Ukraine and Canada have discussed the perspectives of opening Canadian market for Ukrainian products. Canadian colleagues showed interest in importing eggs, meat, apples and other products from Ukraine.
It has been reported by the press service of the department that the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection continues working on the expanding of the assortment of Ukrainian products for export to the Canadian market.
Thus, the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa discussed with the regional representative of Canadian Food Control Agency and the staff of the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine the results of work of the mission inspectors from the Canadian authoritative body in Ukraine on evaluating the control system in the sphere of apiculture, which worked in Ukraine in February this year.
Moreover, during the discussion the issue of releasing other Ukrainian products on the Canadian market has been negotiated. As a result, in May a mission of the Canadian authoritative body will come to Ukraine. The aim of this mission will be carrying out an audit of the domestic system of state control.
The statement says: “The participants of the meeting agreed to maintain contacts at the authoritative bodies’ level and to make further steps for implementing bilateral cooperation plans. Colleagues from Canada informed that the final report on the audit results can be expected within two months”.
May we remind you that in January 2019, the export of agricultural products from Ukraine increased by 22,5% and reached 1,7 billion dollars.
