The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the draft resolution, offered by the minister Oleh Nemchinov about establishment of the Economic Development Council of Ukraine.

The Ukrinform correspondent informs that the decision was made at the Government meeting on Wednesday.

The Prime-minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal says that the main task of this authoritative body will be working out the mechanisms for solving problematic issues in the economic sphere and creating favorable conditions for its development.

As stated in the explanatory note to the document, this Council is set up to exercise the government’s authority in the field of economic development, to improve the strategic planning system and to facilitate the independent implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers’ program of activities.

It will be an advisory body at the Cabinet of Ministers, which will elaborate proposals and concrete mechanisms for implementing state policy on economic development and implementing of the goals of sustainable development of Ukraine, creating conditions for ensuring the competitiveness of Ukrainian producers and enterprises, protecting the health and well-being of citizens.

The leader of the Council will be the Prime-minister of Ukraine.
