On April 7, the Agreement between Ukraine and Canada on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters entered into force – an exchange of diplomatic notes between the parties took place.
This event was preceded by the signing of the relevant Decree by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The implementation of the Agreement will contribute to the development of cooperation between the customs authorities of the two states, in particular through the exchange of information to prevent, detect and investigate violations of customs legislation. The document will also strengthen the capacity to combat customs offenses and will contribute to enhancing the security of international supply chains.
The Agreement will also help Ukraine and Canada to more effectively combat smuggling, illegal trade in weapons, narcotic substances and other dangerous goods.
