After 15 years, Ukraine has joined the group of the largest food exporters in the WTO

Ukraine has joined the Kern Group, which unites supporters of greater liberalization of international trade in agricultural goods within the World Trade Organization (WTO). Ukraine started the process of joining the group of large exporters of agricultural products within the WTO at the end of 2009. Since 2020, it has had observer status in the Kern Group.

The Kern Group was created in 1986 by WTO member countries, which account for 30% of world agricultural exports. Besides Ukraine, the association includes Canada, the Republic of South Africa, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Chile.
