The export of live cattle in 2023 reduced by 8,8% compared to 2022, up to 17,6 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the export of live cattle reduced by 22,1% compared to the figure for 2022 and amounted to 27,5 million US dollars.
Lebanon (62,3%), Egypt (24,7%) and Jordan (8,3%) bought the most domestic cattle in 2023.
The import of live cattle in 2023 fell by 18,7% compared to the previous year - to 646 tons.
Although Ukrainian farmers spent 5,9% more on the purchase of live cattle abroad than in 2022, 3,6 million US dollars.
Live cattle were most actively bought in 2023 in Denmark (62,9%), Slovakia (15,6%) and Poland (7,6%).
