The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection informs that in 2019 43% of sanitary and phytosanitary legal acts were approximated to the EU legislation. In total, since 2014 52% of the preplanned changes in the legislation have been implemented.
Till 2021 Ukraine has to adapt into the national legislation over 250 EU Acts, concerning the state control in the sphere of sanitary and phytosanitary measures, food products and feed safety, animal health and wellbeing, plants health, etc. The Adaptation plan includes 1943 measures. In 2019 43% of legal acts were approximated to the EU legislation and since the beginning of 2020 – 7%.
Starting from 2014 and up to now the total progress in approximating national sanitary and phytosanitary laws is 52%.
