In the 1st quarter 2023 Ukraine has increased import of agricultural products by 22%

In 2023, agro-food import to Ukraine will grow faster than export. In January-March 2023, Ukraine has increased import of agri-food products by 22% up to 1 790 million US dollars compared to the same period last year. In the 1st quarter, EU countries supplied food to Ukraine worth 907 million US dollars (50,7% in the structure of domestic imports of agricultural products), Asian countries - 398 million US dollars  (22,2%), African countries - 79 million US dollars   (4,4% ).

Poland continues to occupy the first place in the ranking of the main sellers of agricultural products to Ukraine. In the first quarter of 2023, it has exported agricultural products to Ukraine worth 232 million US dollars (13%). The second position is held by Türkiye - 202 million US dollars (11%).

The commodity structure of the import of agri-food products traditionally consists of fish and seafood (214 million US dollars), fruits, berries and nuts (210 million US dollars), seeds and oil crops (197 million US dollars), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (153 million US dollars), tobacco products (111 million US dollars), vegetables (110 million US dollars), various food products (108 million US dollars).

Together, these types of agricultural products accounted for about 62% of its import.
