The export of Ukrainian horticultural products has been reducing for the second year in a row

In 2023, the revenue from the export of fruit and berry products from Ukraine was 257 million US dollars, having reduced by 18% compared to the previous year.

The biggest incomes for exporters last year were the sales of frozen berries and fruits (132 million US dollars, mainly raspberries and blueberries), shelled and shelled walnuts (77 million US dollars), grain crops (apples, 18 million US dollars), fresh berries (18 million US dollars).

In 2023, the export of frozen fruits reached 87 000 tons, increasing by 3 000 tons and becoming the maximum during the period of Ukraine's independence. The sales figure on the international market of walnuts increased from 25 000 tons in 2022 to almost 31 000 tons in 2023, and berries, respectively, from 4 000 tons to 5 000 tons. At the same time, the export volumes of apples and pears reduced - from more than 46 thousand tons in 2022 to 42 thousand tons in 2023.

The main buyer countries of fruits and berries of Ukrainian production last year: Poland - about 62 million US dollars, Germany - 24 million US dollars, Italy - 14 million US dollars, France - 13 million US dollars, the Czech Republic - 13 million US dollars, Romania - 12 million US dollars, the Netherlands - 11 million US dollars, Austria - 11 million US dollars, Azerbaijan - 10 million US dollars. In general, the European Union has retained the status of the main consumer of our horticultural products, having a share of 77%.
