Export of agricultural products to the EU reduced to 1 million tons

The export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU reduced to the level of 2022 and amounts to less than 1 million tons per month, while last year in September it exceeded 4 million tons.

For almost a year, Ukraine has not been able to export wheat, sunflower, corn and rapeseed to neighboring EU countries.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has exported 17 million tons of agricultural goods, of which about 12 million tons — through the ports of Great Odesa, almost another 3 million tons — through the ports of the Danube, and only 2 million tons by land transport.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine M. Solskyi assured that the export of Ukrainian agricultural products does not have a negative impact on the EU markets, but also plays a role in stabilizing the price balance.

He added that the share of Ukrainian poultry meat and eggs in the total consumption of the EU is less than 2% and 1%, respectively, and the price of sugar in the EU is still much higher than it was before the full-scale invasion, and if Ukrainian sugar is removed from the market, the price in the EU will increase even more.
