Ukraine received 1.7 billion dollars from metal exports this year, which is 7% less than in the same period last year, and 3.2 times less than in the same period before the full-scale invasion.

Current revenues from metal exports for 5 months are almost the same as Ukraine earned from metallurgy in the peak month of 2021. In general, before the full-scale invasion, income from the sale of metals abroad amounted to about 1.3 billion dollars per month.

In total, the cumulative income from metal exports amounted to 18.4 billion dollars over more than four years of full-scale war. For comparison, Ukraine received such amounts in just one year from the export of metallurgical products in 2010–2012. It was then that metallurgy accounted for almost a quarter of all export revenues from goods and services.

From 2013 to 2021, the share of metals remained stably high – on average, about 19% of total exports. This year, the share of metals in the structure of Ukrainian exports has decreased to 7%.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, excluding January and February 2022, the most successful year for metallurgical exports during the years of full-scale war was 2025 – Ukraine received 4.7 billion dollars from the sale of metals abroad. The share of the industry in the total export of goods and services reached 9%.
