Ukraine and Armenia have increased the number of permits for international road transport and will begin preparing a new agreement that will provide for the gradual liberalization of transport between the two states.
The decisions were adopted based on the results of a meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Armenian Commission on International Road Transport, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.
The parties agreed to increase the quota of universal permits by 600 units. This is 30% more than the previous volume. This decision will allow Ukrainian and Armenian carriers to carry out more international transport operations.
In addition, important information for road carriers is Armenia’s decision that, from 14 July 2026, vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of up to 44 tonnes registered in member states of the ECMT and BSEC systems will be exempt from road tolls for bilateral and transit transport operations through the territory of Armenia on the basis of the relevant multilateral permits.
Ukraine and Armenia also agreed for the first time to exchange permits for irregular (non-scheduled) passenger transport, which will contribute to the development of bus services between the two countries.
