Since its launch in September 2023, the Ukrainian maritime corridor has ensured the transportation through the ports of Greater Odesa of 209.3 million tonnes of cargoes, including 124.1 million tonnes of grain, and the passage of 8,222 vessels.

This was discussed during a meeting of representatives of Ukraine, the European Commission, Moldova and Romania dedicated to ensuring the stable transit of Ukrainian products.

In 2026, Ukrainian seaports handled 46 million tonnes of cargoes. Of these, 42.2 million tonnes accounted for the ports of Greater Odesa, and another 3.8 million tonnes for the ports of the Danube region.

The ports of Greater Odesa provide about 90% of Ukraine’s agricultural product exports, which are supplied to more than 55 countries worldwide. Therefore, the stability of maritime and land logistics routes is important not only for Ukraine’s economy but also for global food markets.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue coordination and the development of joint solutions in the following areas:

- increasing the capacity of the ports of the Danube region;

- development of railway, road and border infrastructure;

- reducing the time required for customs and border control procedures;

- improving coordination between the transport, customs and border services of the parties;

- expanding the possibilities for the transit of Ukrainian agricultural and other export products;

- attracting European funding for infrastructure modernisation within the framework of the “Solidarity Lanes” and the TEN-T network.
