According to the results of 5 months of 2026, Ukrainian exports of frozen meat of large horned cattle showed opposite dynamics in volumes and revenue: physical supplies decreased, but foreign currency revenues increased. More than two-thirds of exports are traditionally directed to the countries of the post-Soviet space, which causes a certain dependence of the industry on regional market conditions.
In the period from January to May 2026, about 7.5 thousand tons of frozen cattle meat were shipped to foreign markets, which is 6.2% less than last year for the same period. At the same time, monetary revenue from exports increased and amounted to approximately $34 million, which is 10.7% higher than the indicator for 5 months of 2025.
The geography of Ukrainian supplies remains concentrated in Asia and the countries of the post-Soviet space. Azerbaijan became the leader in import volumes with a share of approximately 36.4% of total exports, in 2nd place – Uzbekistan with about 31%, and China closed the top three with a share of 11.3%.
In May 2026, some producers began to adjust selling prices for cattle meat downward, which may soften the pace of revenue growth in the coming months.
