Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed on a “transport visa-free regime”

Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed on the liberalization of freight transportation between the countries. The relevant agreements were reached during the 1st meeting of the Joint Commission on International Road Transport in Sarajevo.

The parties agreed that from January 1, 2027, a “transport visa-free regime” for freight transportation will come into effect between Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This means that bilateral and transit freight transportation between the countries will be carried out without the need for permits.

Until the full launch of liberalization, the parties also agreed to increase the quota of permits for freight transportation until the end of 2026.

The liberalization of freight transportation will contribute to the development of trade between the countries, reduce the administrative burden on carriers and increase the efficiency of international logistics.

It is important that over the past 10 years, trade between the countries has increased 5 times, so liberalized transportation will make it possible to further increase trade turnover and strengthen cooperation.

In general, the geography of transport liberalization includes more than 35 countries. Thus, Bosnia and Herzegovina will become the 36th country on this list.
