Railway transportation of grain and oilseed cargoes decreased in April.
Thus, the transportation of grain cargoes amounted to 2.952 million tons, which is 94.5 thousand tons, or 3.1% below the March level. In the export direction, 2.647 million tons of such products were sent, which is 93.1 thousand tons, or 3.4% less than in March.
Exports of vegetable oil amounted to 143.7 thousand tons, down by 15.2 thousand tons, or 9.6%. Oilseed meal and cake shipments totaled 239.3 thousand tons, which is 42.9 thousand tons, or 15.2% less than in March.
In April, 2.441 million tons, or 92% of the grain flow, passed through ports. Through land crossings, 206.2 thousand tons were shipped, or 8%. Compared to March, the port direction decreased by 1.8%, and the land direction by 19.0%.
For processed products, the structure of railway transportation is shifted towards land crossings. In April, 60.5 thousand tons (42%) of vegetable oil were shipped towards ports, while 83.2 thousand tons (58%) went to the border. The port direction decreased by 11.8% compared to the previous month, and the land direction by 7.9% m/m. For oilseed meal and cake: 200.1 thousand tons (84%) were shipped to land crossings and 39.1 thousand tons (16%) to ports.
