Ukraine and the Philippines have identified steps to open markets and develop trade. This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection following the visit of the agency’s head, Serhii Tkachuk, to the Republic of the Philippines.
Ukraine has much to offer the Philippine market: grains, berries, fruits, vegetables – high-quality products that are already competitive in global markets. The Philippine side presented its export potential, in particular Cavendish bananas, mangoes, durian, pineapple, and other high-value crops. A key factor of cooperation remains adherence to high standards as the basis for safe trade.
The State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection is already implementing a number of measures to open the market for Ukrainian meat producers, in particular:
For processed poultry products – requests have been sent, questionnaires completed, and additional responses provided. A decision from the Philippine side is expected.
For poultry meat – all necessary materials have been submitted for approval.
For mechanically deboned meat and poultry processed products – dialogue is ongoing.
For pork – the process of agreeing on requirements is underway.
