The People’s Republic of China has opened its market for imports of Ukrainian peas following a completed audit.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection received a letter from the Embassy of Ukraine in the PRC regarding the review by the Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine of the General Administration of Customs of China of technical materials and video materials concerning the conditions of enterprise operations and laboratory testing capabilities for the export of Ukrainian peas.
At present, the General Administration of Customs of the PRC has registered 2 Ukrainian enterprises for storage and processing of peas that participated in the audit and from which, according to the protocol, exports of peas from Ukraine to China may be carried out.
The State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection has currently included 3 business entities in the list of enterprises planning to export peas to the PRC, and 4 business entities in the list of enterprises growing peas for export to the PRC.
The phytosanitary protocol for the export of peas from Ukraine to China between the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the General Administration of Customs of the PRC, the roadmap, and information on enterprises that can currently start exports are published on the official website of the State Service in the section “Activities”, “Phytosanitary control in seed production and nurseries”, “Phytosanitary requirements of countries”, “Phytosanitary requirements of the People’s Republic of China IPPC”.
