Ukraine has doubled imports of high-tech fertilizers

In January 2026, Ukraine imported more than 6 thousand tons of technical ammophos grade 12:61. This is almost twice as much as in the same period last year and 4.6 times more than in 2024.

This indicates that farmers are placing greater emphasis on precision agriculture and the use of highly efficient fertilizers rather than on cost-saving and the use of relatively cheap superphosphates.

Total imports of nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers in January 2026 amounted to 31.2 thousand tons, of which 12.46 thousand tons were imports of granulated ammophos grades 11:52 and 12:52. Production of nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers in Ukraine in 2026 is not operating.
