A hub for processing and distribution of Ukrainian products to be established in Ghana

Within the framework of the IV International Food Security Conference “Food from Ukraine”, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Republic of Ghanasigned a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Center for the Processing and Distribution of Ukrainian Products in West Africa.

The memorandum defines the framework for bilateral cooperation and provides for:

joint elaboration of the possibility of establishing a food processing and distribution center in Ghana that will receive, process, and distribute Ukrainian wheat and other products;

exchange of knowledge, data, technologies, and best practices in the field of agriculture;

preparation of feasibility studies, project documentation, and subsequent investment agreements;

involvement of businesses, agricultural associations, research institutions, and private companies from both countries in the implementation of joint initiatives.

Ukraine undertakes to provide technological expertise, equipment, and technical support, while Ghana will provide land plots, required permits, access to infrastructure, and legal guarantees for the implementation of the project.

Implementation of the agreements will ensure:

an increase in exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to African countries;

the establishment of a processing and distribution center in Ghana, which will serve as a logistics hub for Ukrainian products;

attraction of foreign investment into processing, logistics, and agricultural technologies;

development of local infrastructure and creation of jobs in Ghana;

strengthening of political and economic partnerships between Ukraine and African countries;

enhancement of food security in the region, especially in countries dependent on imports of grain and flour.
