Poland set a new record for potato exports: from January to August 2025, 107,54 thousand tonnes of potatoes were shipped to foreign markets. The main buyer remained Ukraine, which imported 57,11 thousand tonnes.
Polish potatoes were also actively supplied to Romania (11,9 thousand tonnes), Moldova (9,92 thousand tonnes), Belarus (6,52 thousand tonnes), Germany (5,63 thousand tonnes), Italy (5,01 thousand tonnes), Slovakia (2,78 thousand tonnes), Latvia (2,4 thousand tonnes), Spain (1,25 thousand tonnes), and the United Kingdom (820 tonnes). Export revenue for this period amounted to PLN 151,99 million.Almost half of the income was generated by the Ukrainian market – PLN 73,94 million (approximately €14,8 million, UAH 850 million).
At the same time, potato imports to Poland still exceeded exports: over eight months, 171,69 thousand tonnes were imported, worth around €55,2 million.The main supplier was Germany. Imports included table potatoes, chilled potatoes, seed potatoes, and starch potatoes.
